I figured I would drop a story out here and mention a few things.
First off, homecoming happened over this last weekend. I apologize for the lack of info that was disseminated over the website, but it turns out a large collection of late 70's crows had organized and were having a big bash at the house. Unfortunately because of the segmented nature of our alumni I didn't hear about it to post it on here, and none of them are members of the site (though it seems a few do know it exists).
From what I hear there were a lot of people there, and the Alumni meeting was productive. The meeting was recorded and I will be sending out information to download it to your system for a listen when I get it from the brothers living in house.
I was unable to attend homecoming on Saturday, but I was able to stop off there midday Sunday. I took some pictures of the state of the house so that everyone can have a little virtual visit. I want to also state clearly that THESE PICTURES WERE TAKEN AFTER ALL THE FOOT TRAFFIC OF HOMECOMING HAD TRAVELED THE HOUSE AND MADE MESSY THE HARD WORK OF THE LIVE IN BROTHERS WHO CLEANED UP FOR THE ALUMNI VISIT. So when I post them don't think "wow that looks messy", instead think about the last time you had a party, and how your house started clean but ended up messy and thats when I was there to take pictures.
I bumped into a fellow in the house named Curt Arndt who helped orchestrate the homecoming events for the 70's alums this year. I will be contacting him to see if we can get some of those guys to join up here.
I have been playing with the notifications on the site and letting it update me when something new gets posted. It seems to be working pretty well, so I am tempted to just flip the switch and activate update emails for everyone, accompanied by a mass email with directions how to turn it off if they so desire. That way new postings here will notify people and if they don't want notifications they can come switch it off.
Lastly, I am still trying to gauge interest in a Christmas dinner meetup probably downtown Chicago near Christmas. I would like to set a date relatively soon so people can start planning for it. Reply/comment to the earlier message if you are interested and have a date suggestion.
That is all. Have a great fall.
